FAQ about RU58841. This FAQ answers most common questions and clears all the doubts out of the air!
RU58841 Frequently asked questions
Studies have shown that RU58841 works just as well as finasteride and maybe even a tiny bit better on a 6 month basis. We have no data long term though. See this article for a more detailed explanation.
Yes, RU58841 is stable in a solution.
In a study RU58841 hasn't been shown to alter both testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Actually most non-steroidal antiandrogens don't alter these hormonal parameters although a slight increase in testosterone might occur. See this article for the reference.
RU is only available as a research chemical since it is not approved on the market as a treatment.
The exact details are unknown. However taken the market value of RU58841 and the short patent life it is assumable that the clinical trials of RU58841 stopped because of financial reasons. See a more detailed explanation here.
You can buy RU58841 as a research chemical in the following places:

FAQ About Mixing RU58841 Solutions and answers for common mistakes
If the temperature is low (cold solution), then the RU58841 particles will probably have a hard time to fully dissolve into the solution (minox solution or pg/ethanol solution). Make sure the temperature of the solution is at least 20-25 C + before you mix the powder.
The grain/mesh size of the RU58841 might be different per batch. Some batches have bigger crystals than other. This is just the appearance of the powder. The grain/mesh size has fortunately nothing to do with the purity or quality of any chemical powder.
You can have very big grains that dissolve slightly harder and you can have ultra fine powder. As long the powder is tested by a lab and is 99% pure, you are good to go.
Why is there difference in the size (mesh) of the RU58841 crystals?
Why is there difference in the size (mesh) of the RU58841 crystals?
- RU58841 is a molecule, very small with a molar mass 369.3 g/mol, not viable with the human eye.
- At the end of the production process, once the Ru58841 is purified and 99% pure, it is converted to Crystals. This is the so called crystallization process.
- What happens in the crystallization process is the following:
- The RU58841 (small molecules) are stacked together and the result is that it looks like crystals or crystal powder.
- These crystals differ from size in each crystalization cycle. Sometimes they are bigger, sometimes they are smaller. This is just the appearance (how-many molecules are stacked together in 1 crystal)
Some minoxidil brands have a very low ethanol content which makes it very hard for RU58841 to fully dissolve into the solution. RU58841 is very soluble in pure (95-96%) ethanol.
Kirkland is one of the brands that contain low amount of ethanol (Just 30%). This makes it hard to dissolve RU58841. In practice this just means that you need to shake the solution a littler longer. Just put some effort here, researcher!

Good question!
The answer is straightforward and simple! For each percent strength, you need to dissolve 10mg RU powder per milliliter vehicle. (this can be Kirkland or pg/ethanol or another vehicle).
Example 1:
For a 1% solution; You need to dissolve 10MG per milliliter vehicle. In a 50 ML vehicle that would be 10mg*50 Ml = 500 MG total powder. In a 60 ML minox vehicle it would be 10 MG *60 ML = 600 MG total powder.
Example 2:
For a 3% solution; You need to dissolve 30MG per milliliter vehicle. In a 50 ML vehicle that would be 30mg*50 Ml = 1500MG (1.5 gram) total powder. In a 60 ML minox vehicle it would be 30 MG *60 ML = 1800 MG (1.8 gram) total powder.
Example 3:
For a 8% solution; You need to dissolve 80MG per milliliter vehicle. In a 50 ML vehicle that would be 80mg*50 Ml = 4000MG (4 gram) total powder. In a 60 ML minox vehicle it would be 80 MG *60 ML = 4800MG (4.8 gram) total powder.
It is pretty simple right?
